Time and Pitch Manipulation

Remember this:

You can change the timing of an audio clip, speeding it up or slowing it down to fit a shot, without changing the pitch.

Or you can change the pitch without affecting the tempo, retuning music and noises, creating cartoon and science-fiction effects, or even changing the character of a voice.

Both of these processes come with some costs in terms of distortion and other artifacts. Your best chance of success comes from understanding how the processes work so you can choose the best options.

For the least distortion, change both time and pitch simultaneously.
