Abstract
Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are immersive technologies that change how the real world is seen. Depending on the technology, humans can be transported to completely virtual worlds or added digital features to our actual surroundings (AR and VR). It will offer surgeons detailed, real-time visualizations of patient anatomy during procedures. Surgeons will be able to overlay digital information onto the patient’s body, providing guidance, highlighting critical structures, and improving precision. This can lead to safer surgeries with reduced risks and improved outcomes. By offering immersive experiences that aid patients in understanding their problems, available treatments, and post-operative care instructions, AR and VR will completely transform patient education. Better treatment adherence and results result from patients being able to study their anatomy, visualize medical processes, and actively participate in shared decision-making. It can help patients manage long-term health issues including obesity, diabetes, and hypertension by offering lifestyle changes, educational materials, and real-time feedback. ...
