Because of the way that the iSeries LPAR hypervisor works, APRM can control
the minimum values of resources for partitions that are powered down; DLPAR
operations are permitted for all partitions whether or not they are active.
4.3 System i platforms
APRM establishes an SSH connection from each i5/OS partition to each HMC
controlling the system on which they run. This connection is a two-way conduit
that mimics the operation of the HMC command-line interface. Through this
channel, APRM can derive information about the LPAR configuration and
