So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

8.3 System i platforms
Because the LPAR controller, the SP, and the HMC do not supply much
information below the IOA level, APRM cannot implement rules about which
kinds of hardware you want to make switchable. Instead, you assign an APRM
name (as you do for the manual switching facility) as the indication to APRM that
a specific IOP or IOP-less IOA can be switched.
Any partition can use any slot on any bus so long as the slot is not currently
required for another partition. APRM does not take an IOP from a partition that
