Following the recommendations in Chapter 3, “Setting up LPAR limits to make
tuning possible” on page 9, minimum values and maximum values for the
processing resources were set as shown in Table 5-2 through Table 5-6 on
Partition Intended use
Partition #0 The “skinny” primary partition. This partition’s purpose is solely to
control logical partitioning (LPAR) and I/O for the rest of the system. It
does not exist in the System i data.
