6.1 General considerations
For each of the LPAR configurations, you must establish a set of Automatic
Partition Resource Manager (APRM) tuning rules. These rules differ from the
rules provided to the LPAR hypervisor through Dedicated Service Tools (DST),
System Service Tools (SST), iSeries Navigator (for iSeries hardware), or the
Hardware Management Console (HMC) (for System i hardware) in a few ways:
򐂰 These rules must not violate the IBM LPAR limits.
򐂰 You can change these rules at any time, and the changes are immediately
effective.
򐂰 The APRM tuning rules really control the management of the system; the
LPAR limits simply set outer boundaries for the APRM rules.
