If you want to hold a large amount of assets, for example, in cryptocurrencies, you are better off using a cold wallet, such as a paper wallet. A paper wallet is just a term used for printing your public and private keys on a piece of paper, which makes it a more secure wallet than using software or an online wallet. While, if it is stored in a secure place (safe), a paper wallet is more secure than its online counterpart, a piece of paper can suffer water damage, be torn up, or get destroyed in many other ways.
