3D model
Model in three dimensions.
4D model
Four-dimensional model (includes time schedule data).
5D model
Five-dimensional model (including time and cost data).
assembly
A physical aggregation of components.
asset
Item, thing, or entity that has potential or actual value to an organization.
asset information model (AIM)
Model containing data and information to help an organization manage its asset.
asset information requirements (AIR)
Defines the information that’s required for an asset information model.
attribute
Piece of data that defines a property or characteristic of an object, element, or file.
big data
Data that’s so large it’s difficult to handle using traditional database and software techniques and processing capacity.
BIM champion
Person responsible for encouraging and supporting others in BIM adoption and implementation.
BIM collaboration format (BCF)
An open XML file format that helps support workflow communication in a BIM process.
BIM consultant
A specific role that may focus on a particular area and works with the organization to support the successful adoption and implementation of BIM.
BIM coordinators
They lead their discipline within the project and coordinate any clash detection and any actions or outcomes that may be required.
BIM environment
Data management that integrates applications such as BIM tools and BIM platforms within an organization.
BIM execution plan (BEP)
