The Role of International Organizations
Overview
The existence of professional organizations that operate on an individual
basis for the purpose of research, data gathering, and consulting ofcials
on key issues both politically and economically is paramount. It is the inter-
national organizations—these objective, nonbiased independent groups—
that often can make a difference of whether data or a study is objective and
meaningful or not. This chapter discusses the key role of international orga-
nizations. It begins by taking a look at how international cooperation began
