When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Where can we go for more answers?
The first book on ESA (O'Reilly's Enterprise Services Architecture by Woods and Mattern, mentioned earlier) is a good place to get an overview of what ESA is all about. The latest book, called mySAP ERP for Dummies: ESA Edition (Vogel and Kimbell), also covers a lot of basic ESA topics, as does SAP NetWeaver for Dummies (Woods and Word) (both published by For Dummies). SDN (http://sdn.sap.com) is one of the best locations for information about SAP and ESA. The Enterprise Services Inventory preview is there; it shows what kinds of services SAP will be introducing. SAP.com also offers a variety of other high-level information as well as a service marketplace.
ASUG, long a valuable resource for those in the SAP ecosystem, is starting a special interest group for ESA that will include thought leaders such as Paul Kurchina. You can find details on this special interest group at http://www.asug.com.
