I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
What kind of company will we be after ESA?
You will be the kind of company where the traditional barriers between business and IT have fallen. IT, as we know it now, will be practiced on a daily basis by "business analysts" who understand both sides of the equation and who use model-driven tools to refine your business processes continually.
You will be the kind of company where the day-to-day business process that comprises the very essence of your company will be encoded into your IT. Annotated executable models will become the requirements documents.
You will be the kind of company where IT has stopped saying no to most projects because of the complexity and cost. Instead of building applications and then walking away to start new ones, IT will tend to an infrastructure that supports business analysts and other users throughout the enterprise. IT will be dispersed, and it will be summoned within the enterprise as needed.
The boundaries of the enterprise will expand as business processes are automated and extended beyond your own IT systems and into those of your partners around the globe. Your company will continually sense and respond to data received from anywhere within the network, which means business processes will continually be tested and refined.
You will be the kind of company that evolves a little bit every day.
