directors. It is important to note, however, that no matter what the distinc-
tion regarding leadership roles is, boards of directors have a supervisory
role in every jurisdiction. Also, boards of directors have supervisory roles
in public sector corporations, nonprot organizations, and nongovern-
mental organizations.
The question, then, is which responsibilities go with the role as super-
