This book has been a long time coming—both personally and professionally. I have peppered the book with personal stories of the reasons why I felt that I needed to go beyond the job description; some places I was able to do so, and other times that I learned I was not allowed.

Professionally, this book is in line to help leaders bring their teams into the 2nd quarter of the 21st century. We take none of the words our own leaders say for granted—instead, we just look it up on the Internet to see if it’s fact. We look at information differently than we did 50, 25, even 10 years ago.
