“Hey, Heather, how are you today?” Joe asks as he follows her into the conference room on Thursday for the weekly director/leader team meeting.
Heather, the director of accounting, barely nods, her eyes focused on her seat at the table or, more appropriately, the seats around her unofficial “assigned” seat. She is looking for those on her team who are missing from their unofficially assigned seat (assigned by her, of course). It is two minutes before start time, and everyone knows that Heather’s team has to be there five minutes early—before her—or they would hear about it. Luckily for her team, at least on that day, they make it in time.
