Using a StatefulSet

With a StatefulSet, the situation is different. The data directory is mounted to the container, but the storage itself is managed externally. As long as the external storage is reliable and redundant, our data is safe, regardless of what happens to specific containers, pods, and nodes. We've previously mentioned how to define a StatefulSet for the user database using a headless service. However, consuming the storage of the StatefulSet can be a little challenging. The headless service attached to a StatefulSet has no cluster IP. So, how would the user service connect to its database? Well, we will have to help it.
