PrefacePreface
Soft Computing (SC) refers to a collection of several modern computational
techniques in computer science that includes fuzzy systems, neural
networks, machine learning, evolutionary and natural computing, etc. Soft
Computing differs from conventional (hard) computing, mainly in that hard
computing methods are developed using traditional mathematical concepts
based on rigorous concepts that lead us to the use of rigid equations that are
sometimes out of reality, specially, for complex systems. On the other hand,
inspired on the ability of the human mind to solve complex problems, SC
exploits the tolerance to imprecision, uncertainty ...
