AISs are computation models of IS, which extrapolate the workings of
theoretical immunology and observed immune functions, principles
and models, to problem-solving and engineering applications. Some of
the main properties of the IS that are of particular interest to us, because
to their direct connection to computational tasks are: self-organization,
learning, adaptation and diversity, classifi cation, distributed system, pattern
recognition; most of these properties have a direct connection to computing
