So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Deploying and Maintaining Specter
Specter must be manually installed on any system that you want to be a honeypot. This can be a time-intensive process. However, Specter has a major advantage over BOF in that it can be remotely managed. Specter comes with a second application called Specter Remote, which allows an administrator to remotely manage all the Specter honeypots.
You enable remote management on the honeypot through the SpecterControl menu. As discussed earlier, you need to enable the remote management option, configure the port you want to use for management, and then give the honeypot a password for remote access.
