Equipment and Materials

Materials from Kit

  • Goggles

  • Blood, synthetic

  • Centrifuge tube, 1.5 mL

  • Kastle-Meyer reagent

  • Pipettes

  • Reaction plate, 24-well

Materials you Provide

  • Gloves

  • Cotton swabs

  • Hair dryer (optional)

  • Hydrogen peroxide, 3%

  • Nickel (US coin)

  • Paper (white copy or printer)

  • Pencil solution from Chapter 23

  • Ultraviolet (UV) light source (optional)

  • Vinegar, distilled white

  • Watch or clock with second hand

  • Water, distilled or deionized
