There are two types of affinities that are possible with STM:
VTAM Generic Resources affinity is used by VTAM to route terminal logon requests to a
particular IMS which holds significant status for that resource. Refer to 11.4, “Generic
resources affinity” on page 242 for more information.
Resource Manager (RM) affinity is used by STM to prevent a user from logging on to one
IMS when its end-user significant status may exist only in another (SRM=LOCAL).
