This chapter describes the Automatic Restart Manager (ARM) and how it can be used with
IMS in the Parallel Sysplex environment.
Automatic Restart Manager (ARM) is a facility of OS/390 introduced in MVS/ESA SP™ 5.2. It
can be used to automatically restart failed IMS, online subsystems and certain other jobs and
tasks in a Parallel Sysplex.
