Figure 7-2 shows the IMS architecture as implemented in IMS Version 8. The big change
between IMS Version 7 and IMS Version 8 is the introduction of the beginnings of the CSL,
and the communications among IMS, CSL, and DBRC via the SCI.
In IMS Version 8, there are three new address spaces: Operation Manager (OM), Resource
Manager (RM), and Structured Call Interface (SCI). Note that SCI is used to mean both the
SCI address space, as well as the interface between address spaces.
