33.1 INTERBUS Overview
INTERBUS was developed by the German company Phoenix Contact and presented in 1987. INTERBUS
has
been
designed
as
a
fast
sensor/actuator
bus
for
transmitting
process
data
in
industrial
environments
and is standardized in the IEC-61158 [1]. It presents several peculiarities that are mainly related to
the topology and to the protocol that provides fast, cyclic, and time-equidistant process data transmission,
