So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
IIS 7.0 takes the best features first introduced in Windows Server 2003 and builds on them. The modular architecture and Integrated Pipeline open up a lot of opportunities to enhance your application logging options. The IIS Manager exposes and simplifies how you manage your log settings. You can set your default logging settings to be on a per-site or per-server basis.
IIS 7.0 also introduces many tools for automating your log file configuration. You can use Appcmd or Windows PowerShell along with the Microsoft.Web.Administration namespace to configure or search for information. The new UTF-8 encoding helps standardize your logs.
