2.1 Start by validating your software levels
To effectively use File Manager, you must have the appropriate levels of software
installed on your system. We used File Manager Version 3, Release 1, as it was
on the general availability date. Some examples can work with prior levels.
2.1.1 PTF information
You can validate your level by starting a File Manager session in ISPF. Type VER
on the command line and review the message that is displayed. The panel
should look like the one in Figure 2-1.
