It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 17. iPod on the Web
The World Wide Web evolved at hyperspeed. What was once a system that computer scientists developed to share electronic documents has exploded into an entity that contains the collective consciousness of everyone who’s crafted a bit of HTML code and uploaded the file. The Web is many things to many people: a carnival of commerce, the world’s biggest library, a news medium, a software distribution network, a creative canvas, and a virtual community for people with similar interests, like the finer points of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
This global geek community took to the iPod like ducks to water, so the Web turns out to be a huge part of the iPod fan’s experience. Since its introduction in 2001, the iPod has inspired a number of sites where enthusiasts share information, tips, tricks, and news about their favorite music player. In this chapter, you’ll find out where you can get the most recent iPod software, latest news, and coolest tricks.
