When we compare these two garbage collection methods, we find that there are many points of parity between them. Currently, all garbage collection methods in Java use generations. This means that both the G1GC and ParallelGC methods employ young and tenured generations during their GC marking schemes.
They both work on the concept that most objects have a short life and can be safely recycled quickly after their use. On the other hand, frequently used objects need to be identified so that they can be transferred to the tenured generation for a later garbage collection review.
