I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Ahead-of-Time compilation
The second noticeable change for compiler improvement is Ahead-of-Time compilation. If you are not familiar with the term, let's see what AOT is. As you probably know, every program in any language needs a runtime environment to execute. Java also has its own runtime which is known as Java Virtual Machine (JVM). The typical runtime that most of us use is a bytecode interpreter, which is JIT compiler as well. This runtime is known as HotSpot JVM.
This HotSpot JVM is famous for improving performance by JIT compilation as well as adaptive optimization. So far so good. However, this does not work well in practice for every single application. What if you have a very light program, say, a single method call? In this case, ...
