G1GC is a new method that first appeared in JDK 7 Update 4. It was specially designed to work with applications that use memory sizes of over 4 GB. This garbage collector focuses on the working of various threads in order to keep them in separate regions. It can create large heap regions of up to 32 MB.
This garbage collector is, therefore, designed to provide the functionality of removing regions that hold the most garbage elements.
