Learning by demonstration
Learning by demonstration can be seen as a special case of supervised learning; the teacher or supervisor provides both input and the desired output, which is the fundamental concept of the supervised learning paradigm. The difference from a classical problem of supervised learning consists, however, is the fact that, through the demonstration, the strategy for solving the problem is also supplied to the robot. In practice, the robot mimics the behavior of the supervisor, which is why learning by demonstration is also called learning by imitation.
