I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
BGP is a very sophisticated and highly scalable protocol that has been used in its current version for Internet core routing since 1993. Requirements of the Internet core have led to a very stable and feature-rich implementation. BGP comes in two flavors: EBGP, for routing between autonomous systems (interdomain routing); and IBGP, for routing within autonomous systems (intradomain routing).
Unlike the majority of IGPs, BGP topologies are usually manually configured. Moreover, because BGP is normally used to implement the network operator's routing policy, configurations can be relatively complex.
