So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Remotely debugging a running app
Now, building and pushing an app to your device this way will take longer, but it is far more convenient. Next, let's look at how we can debug a running app remotely by performing the following steps:
- Go back to your shell or Command Prompt.
- Enter the following command:
adb logcat
- You will see a stream of logs covering the screen, which is not something very useful.
- Enter Ctrl + C (command + C on Mac) to kill the process.
- Enter the following command:
//ON WINDOWSC:\Android\sdk\tools\monitor.bat//ON LINUX/MACcd android-sdk/tools/monitor
