It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Differences to other RDMS
In Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server, to drop a CHECK constraint, you instead use a query such as the following:
ALTER TABLE tableforalteringDROP CONSTRAINT check_yearID;
