When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Numeric built-in functions
Numeric built-in functions allow you to manipulate numeric values. There are many different numeric functions. Listed here are the commonly used numeric built-in functions. Note that each of them can be used with a column with numerical values or an expression that contains numerical values:
- AVG : This returns the average of an expression.
- AVG(rating): This will return the average of all the values in a rating column.
- NULL values are ignored.
- COUNT : This returns the number of records.
- COUNT(column1): This will return the count of values in the column1 value, and column1 can contain either strings, dates, or numbers.
- NULL values are ignored.
- MAX : This returns the maximum value in a set of values.
