TSN security
Legacy industrial networks using Ethernet fieldbus technologies mainly rely on perimeter defense for security. If an intrusion can cut through the firewall, it can easily infect the legacy control networks that lack native cybersecurity defenses. TSN is designed with native security controls (such as access control), and, as such, extends the defense capabilities up to the device level, which significantly improves the strength of defense in industrial networks. TSN deployments can benefit from higher-layer security controls (IPSec, TLS, and so on).
