So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Snort

Snort is one of those tools, available for free as it is open source. It is a lightweight network intrusion detection and prevention system. Snort works in three different modes: sniffer mode, packet logging mode, and network intrusion detection system mode.
