54.1. Case Study
During this chapter you will be architecting a solution for a hypothetical customer. He has three plants around the world. The corporate office located in Torreon, Mexico, has the main datacenter and will be exposing existing services from a corporate directory and SAP. It also has a manufacturing system that you can use through a proprietary API. You will build a new Corporate Portal and a WPF planning application that will consume different services and will be run from all the offices.
To start the project, your Solution Architect will have to work with the customer's infrastructure architect to plan for deployment and be sure you can get access to all the services you need.
Keep in mind that the proposed solution is meant to show the different features of the Distributed System Diagrams and not act as guidance or show good architectural patterns.
