52.9. Summary
After talking about the automation model in Chapter 51, in this chapter you were introduced to Visual Studio add-ins and learned how to build, debug, and deploy them in general.
After getting an introduction to the add-ins and their applications, you saw a step-by-step guide on how to use the Add-in Wizard in Visual Studio to generate a starting code for yourself. After that you learned about the anatomy of an add-in and the generated code for your add-ins, as well as the structure of an .AddIn file as an XML file that acts like a configuration file for your add-ins.
After this basic information you saw a simple example to teach you about the development process for an add-in. Finally, you read some notes about the debugging and deployment of add-ins and finished the chapter by being introduced to shared add-ins.
