It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

In this chapter you have seen an overview of the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Windows Workflow Foundation (WF) in Visual Studio 2008. While this only skims the surface of the full potential of each of these technologies, you can see that Visual Studio 2008 can be used to rapidly build applications that consume and expose WCF services or contain WF workflows. Coupled with a rich WPF user interface, these technologies will forge a new generation of service-oriented applications.
