I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 55. VSTS: Developer Edition
Many people would ask themselves, isn't Visual Studio 2008 a product for developers? Why do we need a Developer Edition of a developer tool? It's like saying there was a Halo 3 Gamer Edition. Well, as you can imagine, probably the gamer edition would have features for hardcore gamers. VSTS Developer Edition has advanced features mainly for quality improvement, like code metrics, static analysis, profiling tools, and code coverage. It's not that you can't develop quality software with other editions or that using these tools will make sure your software performs well. Obviously, there's more to it than using a few tools, but these can be of great help and will reduce the time invested in other tasks like code review and debugging.
