Project Management in Strategy Implementation
Strategy implementation often requires new organizational structures, new hires, new processes, and the roll-out of new activities. Such initiatives differ from the day-to-day continuous operational activities. Since they are temporary and unique, strategic initiatives qualify as projects and may be managed as such. Doing so provides the process framework support as well as the close management required to see strategic initiatives through to a successful end.
