Changing the Culture

While companies aspire to bigger and better things in the pursuit of a competitive advantage, at the same time, stability is desirable for ongoing operational efficiency. The culture of the company is an important stabilizing factor as it reinforces the identity of the company as well as its way of doing things. A strong culture, however, may become a challenge when it becomes clear that the strategy and direction of the company needs to change. Chapter 8 introduces ideas for how to shift the culture so that it becomes a better fit for the new strategy.
