Three Steps to Strengthen Resilience

Research has demonstrated that it is possible for anyone to acquire the strength needed to recover from adversity or stress. The method used to acquire this strength is called resilience training.

In this book, we introduce the way to get the heart's muscle into shape based on SPARK Resilience Training, which was developed by the psychologist Dr. Ilona Boniwell.

I have used this method myself. I have made large mistakes at work, have hit rock bottom to the point that I could not pick myself up, and still somehow managed to get back on my feet and regain my motivation and ambition to continue with my work.

Through my experience with resilience training, I have personally gained confidence that although there will be times when I will make mistakes, I will be able to recover from them every time. This confidence has enabled me to take on the challenge of trying new jobs without hesitation.

The experience of picking yourself up from adversity is composed of three steps: (1) make sure your depression hits rock bottom, (2) plan for a smooth recovery, and (3) turn the experience into a lesson.
