3Creating an Organization with High Resilience
What Are the Requirements for a Resilient Workplace?
If an organization is connected through a relationship of mutual assistance, not only does the resilience of each employee working there increase, but the organization also becomes more resilient. If they encounter any adversity, they can bounce back in a short amount of time and overcome it.
What all resilient organizations have in common is that their employees have quality connections with one another. According to a study by Dr. Jane Dutton at the University of Michigan Business School, organizations that survive in the face of fierce global competition perform better and are worth working for because their internal connections are of a higher quality. A high‐quality connection, even if the relationship is temporary, can give people energy.
Four factors are needed to form high‐quality connections in both business and in private life. In the following section, we will be looking at each of these components in detail.
