People Who Are Unable to Take a Step Forward Because They Lack Self‐Confidence
There has been an increase in people who do not have self‐confidence. In various workplaces, I have heard that workers, especially younger ones, stand out because they turn down jobs they are assigned by saying it's impossible for them. But they don't know if they can do the job or not if they don't take on the challenge. They are unable to take on the challenge because of a lack of confidence and a fear of failure.
Managers are unable to put their trust in such “newbies” and are unsure how to deal with employees of a different generation. Such employees have different attitudes and ways of thinking from those in the past. As a result, their hearts become tired.
And that's not all. Among those selected to engage in higher ranks to promote the active participation of women, there are some who do not have confidence as leaders. They feel distressed because they have no one to ask for advice. I have been consulted about this too.
There has been an increase in the number of middle‐aged employees who have no confidence in their careers. Once they reach the turning point of their career, somewhere between 40 and 45 years of age, their valuation within the company will become set in stone.
