Dealing with Negative Assumptions
Once you become aware of your negative assumptions, the next step is to deal with them independently. The independence here refers to you yourself. Assumptions just happen to be the dogs that settled inside of your heart. There are several methods you can use to deal with your assumption dogs.
Banish the Assumption Dog
The first option is to banish the assumption. If it is a useless and disadvantageous assumption, it may hold you back. When the time comes, it may make you anxious and prevent you from having a confident attitude. In such a situation, it might be wise to just let go of that assumption dog.
What has been imprinted on us after birth can be discarded by the power of our own will. We call this unlearning. Let go of it, as if you were deleting unnecessary files on your computer. Imagine that you are connected to the assumption dog inside your heart with a chain. Open up the hand that is holding that chain and let it go.
After that, don't give any attention to the assumption dog regardless of what it says. That's no longer a dog you own. It's just a stray, so pay no mind to it.
