At Titanic Softwære A/S, a fictional Danish company specializing in navigation software for ships, changes must be made. The customers have been complaining about bugs in the software that make their ships sail to the wrong destinations, and the speed of software development is not satisfactory.
The chief technology officer (CTO) and some developers decide to go to a software conference to learn what other companies are doing to stay ahead of the game. They find a new approach called agile development, which promises to speed up development, reduce defects, and better align their software with the needs of their customers.
