The data dictionary
Suppose one of the data stores in the DFD you drew in an earlier
activity was 'Club members'. What data would you hold in this
store? Obviously the member's name, his or her
address,
telephone
number,
date
of
birth,
and perhaps other items of data besides. These
are the data elements into which the data item (record) 'member'
might be decomposed. If you wished, you might decompose some
of these data elements further - for example, 'name' might be
decompose ...
