Chapter 10Subscriptions
Subscriptions serve the purpose of subscribing to the data published by replication definitions. There will always be a subscription for every type of replication definition or for a group of replication definitions in the form of a publication, and more than one subscription can subscribe to a replication definition. Note that subscription definitions are not required in the warm standby setup. Subscriptions resemble a SQL select statement with a where clause to specify a subset of data. The method of initializing the data from the primary site to the destination site is called materialization. After materialization, normal replication process resumes.
