In this chapter we will discuss types of failures, procedures for recovering from failures, and how to prevent and plan for recoverability.
Types of Failures
There are several types of failures. These can be short duration transient or long duration transient. Additionally, they can cause data loss, and one or more Replication Server components may suffer disk failures causing data loss.
